2018-07-11
On July 5, 2018, Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC), Berkeley Research Group and International Advocacy Academy jointly held a seminar on "Effective Cross-examination: Using Experts in International Arbitration" at Han Kun's Shanghai office. This is the second special training event held by HKIAC this year. The seminar focused on how to effectively cross-examine expert witnesses by combining mock cross-examinations with speeches and demonstrations from experts in international arbitration. At the end of the seminar, the experts organized groups and guided attendees to engage in several mock cross-examinations.
Mr. Li Xiaoming, a partner at Han Kun Law Offices, gave welcome remarks at the seminar. Mr. Li discussed the importance of cross-examinations for the professional development of Chinese lawyers from the perspective of globalization and specialization of the legal profession. He encouraged all lawyers to improve together and to embrace learning as a lifelong calling. Han Kun partner Mr. Chen Xianglin also participated in the event.
The seminar received positive responses from the participants and was a complete success. We expect to have more exchanges and interactions with fellow lawyers and other professionals interested in the field of international commerce in the future.
