Han Kun Law Offices is delighted to announce that, effective January, 2018, Zhichao Duan, Jiaxin Liu, Zaiguang Lu, Kaiying Wu and Chuqi Zhang have been promoted to counsel.
Mr. Duan's practice focuses on IP litigation, IP-related dispute resolution, IP licensing and due diligence, as well as patent prosecution and counseling. Mr. Duan has particular expertise in handling technology-related legal matters. He has abundant experience in representing industry-leading multinational clients with their relevant legal matters, covering civil infringement actions, patent invalidation proceedings and related administrative actions, trade secret disputes, as well as IP licensing and due diligence. Before practicing law, Mr. Duan engaged in academic research for nearly 10 years related to various technology areas, and has more than 10 peer-reviewed publications.
Mr. Liu specializes in venture capital and private equity financing, public financing, mergers and acquisitions and foreign investment. He has represented a large number of venture capital funds, private equity funds, strategic investors and entrepreneurs in their financing activities covering various industry sectors including Internet, education, telecommunications, retail and pharmaceuticals, and has assisted in forming deal structures, drafting legal documents and participating in negotiations. In the public financing area, Mr. Liu has represented a large number of issuers and underwriters of Chinese companies in initial public offerings, debt offerings and alternative public financings on overseas stock exchanges.
Mr. Zaiguang Lu's legal services include assisting clients with their venture capital and private equity financings, IPOs and public offerings on foreign exchanges, foreign direct investment and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Lu has represented a large number of companies in their IPOs and acquisitions in the United States, and has assisted many enterprises in their investments and financings in domestic and overseas markets. Mr. Lu represents clients from a wide range of industries including finance, industrial products manufacturing, retail, transportation, TMT, pharmaceutical and entertainment.
Ms. Wu specializes in domestic and foreign capital markets transactions, including domestic and overseas IPOs and refinancings, corporate restructurings and reorganizations, dismantling Red Chip structures, M&A and reorganizations of listed companies, NEEQ IPOs and private placements, acquisitions, restructurings, venture capital/private equity investment and financing. Ms. Wu's legal services include drafting key legal documents for various transactions, issuing legal opinions, drafting transaction documents, assisting with negotiations and conducting legal due diligence and legal research. Ms. Wu represents corporate clients from a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, Internet information technology, advertising, media, etc.
Ms. Zhang specializes in venture capital and private equity financing, mergers and acquisitions and IPOs and reorganizations in foreign equity markets. Ms. Zhang's practice covers a variety of industries, including telecommunications, Internet, software, education, cultural and creative, and biotechnology. Ms. Zhang has represented many funds and enterprises in their investment, financing and merger and acquisition transactions and has provided a full range of legal services, including, deal structure design, legal due diligence, drafting transaction documents, negotiating and arranging for closing and resolving other PRC legal issues. Ms. Zhang has assisted many PRC companies in initial public offerings in the United States and Hong Kong. Ms. Zhang also provides continuous legal services to many well-known enterprises in their daily operations and corporate governance, including designing employee incentive plans and providing legal advice and consulting related to their business structuring and compliance.
