James Wang, Esq of Han Kun invited to chair fund tax roundtable at Zero2IPO/PE Daily's First Investment Management Summit

On May 24, 2017, James Wang, Esq. of Han Kun was invited to participate in the "2017 Investment Management Series Summit (I): Finance + Tax + Law.” Mr. Wang presided over roundtable discussion panel where he engaged in discussion with a number of senior finance and taxation experts from the fund and investment industry and shared his experiences regarding tax planning for RMB funds.
Mr. Wang, as chair of the roundtable discussion panel, had in-depth discussions with several other participants on hot topics related to fund tax planning, as the domestic tax policy for funds is undergoing constant change, such as how fund managers choose a fund's place of registration, how to structure a fund, and the general partner and manager of a fund, how to reduce tax risk related to carried interest and management fees and how to minimize tax risk undertaken by managers of domestic and foreign dual-currency funds in China. He also introduced the latest developments and best practices related to the taxation of international funds and predicted the development trends in the domestic tax environment. The heated and informative discussion of fund tax planning practices generated by the roundtable panel was well received by over 100 industry participants.
