Han Kun and GSK Luxembourg SA successfully hold the seminar, "Globalization of Chinese PE Funds, Global Fundraising + Investment”

The world is currently undergoing great change as China assumes the mantle of globalization. It is expected that Chinese private equity investors will achieve greater successes on the global stage due to the increasing global competitiveness of Chinese enterprises, strong investor demand for global fundraising and investment, and because of China's “One Belt, One Road” development initiative. How to attract different types of institutional investors globally through different private equity funds to achieve true "global fundraising"? How to efficiently invest global funds in China and other countries all over the world to construct reasonable "global investment" structures? The participants at this seminar were provided comprehensive, detailed answers to these questions.
The seminar attracted participants from many well-known private equity funds and enterprises. Participants included counsels and investment representatives from the National Development Bank Finance Corporation, Sequoia Capital, Legend Holdings, Jiuding Investment, CHINA RE, Beijing E-town International Investment & Development Co., Ltd., China Jian Yin Investment Limited, Zhongzhi Enterprise Group, Zero2IPO Group, Zero2IPO Venture, Tsing Capital, Junyu Capital, Ausvanguard Capital, Boiling Capital, Fosun Kinzon, Dealogic, Haitong International, Huarong Securities, Minsheng Securities, and Guodu Securities, among others.
At the beginning of the seminar, Mr. Zhang Ping, a partner at Han Kun Law Offices, extended a warm welcome to the participants on behalf of Han Kun, and briefly introduced Han Kun Law Offices and Luxembourg GSK. Mr. Rol Reiland, Deputy Director of the Luxembourg Embassy in China, made an opening speech. Mr. Lu spoke highly of the Sino-Luxembourg relationship, and briefly described the role of Luxembourg as a bridge linking Chinese investors with the global market.
Ms. Zhang Qi, an officer from the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC), briefly described efforts AMAC has made to advance the internationalization of China's private equity funds. She also encouraged enterprises to actively participate in AMAC-hosted activities in the future.
Mr. Zhang Ping, gave a presentation to introduce the development of RMB and offshore foreign currency private equity funds. He also explained the general structure of parallel private equity funds and analyzed related legal issues.
Marcus Peter and Andreas Heinzmann, two partners from GSK Luxembourg, made presentations related to the legal framework for the Luxembourg private equity fund industry. They also introduced the reasons for setting up private equity funds in Luxembourg, and methods of private equity fundraising, etc.
Ms. Wang Xiangyun, Managing Partner of Shengjing Jiacheng, also made a presentation at the seminar. She gave an in-depth analysis of the role of domestic investors in the globalization of Chinese private equity funds, including their role in establishing offshore U.S. dollar funds and overseas investments. She also commented and advised on the investment activities of those investors.
An open discussion session followed the presentations. Several participants asked questions and all questions were thoroughly answered.
