Han Kun Represents Universal Medical Financial & Technical Advisory Services Co, Ltd. in its establishment of the International Land Port Hospital Public-Private Partnership with the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University

Han Kun has represented Universal Medical Financial & Technical Advisory Services Co., Ltd. (“Universal Medical”) to provide legal services for the establishment of the International Land Port Hospital in the form of a public-private partnership, jointly with the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University ("Jiaotong University First Affiliated Hospital"). On August 30, 2016, Universal Medical and Jiaotong University First Affiliated Hospital formally signed a contract with respect to the project. International Land Port Hospital is a national policy-backed project and is designed to operate as a public-private partnership with the integration of "medical treatment, teaching, research, elder care and healthcare". The project represents the first cooperation between a key local hospital subordinate to NHFPC and social capital. This transaction is of great symbolic significance for it is a win-win attempt to resolve the conflict among insufficient public hospital medical resources, high demand for medical care and the lack of access to social capital.
Universal Medical, together with its corporate group, is the largest integrated medical service provider in China, and aims to provide integrated medical service solutions for hospital clients. Its business covers four major aspects: healthcare finance, hospital investment, construction and operation, medical technology services, and medical information.
Han Kun mainly provided legal services by researching and designing the project cooperation framework, participating in project negotiations, drafting and reviewing relevant legal documents and providing general legal and regulatory consulting services related to the project.
