Asia Legal Business (ALB) has honored Han Kun partner Ms. Ying (Tracy) Zhou by including her in its 2016 ranking of the top 15 rising lawyers in China.
ALB's 2016 rankings showcase 15 young lawyers from across China whose impressive career development points to their potential to make it big in the legal profession in the future. These 15 rising stars, demonstrating great potential and professional excellence, have been nominated as the Top 15 Rising Lawyers in recognition of their strong performance, established reputation and expanding client bases.
Ms. Zhou has 11 years of professional experience in investment, finance, M&A and capital market practices, with a focus on TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications). She has represented many companies in the entire funding process from series-A financing all the way to IPO/M&A completion, providing them with capital operations, legal compliance and other services at all stages. She was involved in many major and innovative M&A deals in the TMT market, where she has demonstrated a gift for structuring highly complex transactions. She has also acted for financial and strategic investors in numerous PE investments, and has acquired extensive experience in providing legal services for financial and strategic investments. Last year, Ms. Zhou participated in deals including JD’s acquisition of Yihaodian, the merger between Dada and Daojia, the merger between Baidu Music and Taihe Music, the equity swap between Baidu and Qunar under Ctrip, Baidu's offshore bond issuance and Ganji's equity acquisition by 58.com. Ms. Zhou adheres to legal thinking, professionalism, business wisdom and service prioritization as the principles guiding her legal practice.
ALB's rising star rankings are released annually. Candidates for rising lawyer are under age 40 or have been working in the legal profession for no more than 15 years, and the selection is based on the following considerations:
1. main achievements;
2. major deals and cases handled;
3. major work performed in the past 12 months;
4. key clients; and
5. awards and accolades won by the candidate.
