Han Kun Partner Yang Chen and associate Fang Ji published an article in the July 2013 issue of Top Capital, entitled "Analysis on Tax and Foreign Exchange Issues Concerning the Equity Transfers Involving Foreign-invested Companies".

With China's further opening up to foreign investments, an increasing number of foreign-invested companies have started to change corporate controls, recover investments or adjust industry investment strategies through equity transfers with their Chinese counterparts and/or among themselves. This article provides a brief analysis on the tax and foreign exchange issues concerning these equity transfers from both a legal and practical perspective.
