Han Kun attracts private fund partner from international law firm to lead its fund formation practice

In an effort to further expand its fund formation capability, Han Kun Law Offices is pleased to announce that it has lured James Yong Wang, former Partner at the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig, to join the firm to lead its fund practice this October.
With almost a decade of experience working at several major international law firms in New York, Chicago, Shanghai and Beijing, James is a leading international and PRC fund formation expert, having represented various fund sponsors in forming dozens of private equity, venture capital, real estate, mezzanine, hedge funds and funds of funds with total commitments in excess of US$20 billion. In addition to the fund formation practice, James is active in private equity and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment and cross-border investment and financing matters. James is among the extremely few Chinese who made partner in the US head office of a major international law firm.
James received his dual bachelor's degree in German Studies and Law from Peking University in China and his J.D. from Columbia Law School in the US. He has studied international and private equity tax law on the tax LL.M. program at New York University and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
