Han Kun and Han Kun's Hong Kong associated law firm have welcomed two new partners, Mr. Xiangyang FAN and Mr. Hon Kit YIP (Adrian), further strengthening the firm's dispute resolution practice.
Mr. Xiangyang Fan joins Han Kun as a partner
Mr. Fan focuses his practice on civil and commercial dispute resolution, specializing in resolving disputes over construction engineering contracts, disputes over real estate development contracts, corporate disputes, financial leasing disputes, enforcement objections, and handling false lawsuits. Before practicing as an attorney, Mr. Fan served as a presiding judge on the Second Circuit Court of the Supreme People's Court, making him one of the first 14 presiding judges to hear civil and commercial cases on the Circuit Court of the Supreme People's Court. In addition, Mr. Fan served as the director and chief judge of the Reconsideration Supervision Office of the Enforcement Bureau of the Supreme People's Court. During his tenure with the Supreme People's Court, Mr. Fan drafted many judicial interpretations and heard a large number of civil and commercial and enforcement cases. Mr. Fan works primarily in the firm's Beijing office.
Mr. Fan serves as an executive director of the Financial Law Professional Committee of the China Behavior Law Association, an executive director of the Legal Risk Prevention and Control Professional Committee of the China Behavior Law Association, and a director of the Enforcement Professional Committee of the China Behavior Law Association. He is an adjunct professor at Jilin University and Liaoning Normal University. Mr. Fan has authored several publications, including one entitled Rules and Adjudication of Enforcement Objection Lawsuits, and has published more than 100 articles touching on both theoretical and practical legal issues.
Mr. Hon Kit YIP (Adrian) joins Han Kun's Hong Kong associated law firm as a partner
Mr. Yip has extensive experience in the resolution of cross-border commercial disputes using the court systems in Hong Kong and other jurisdictions, as well as international arbitrations conducted under various institutional rules. Mr. Yip specializes in asset recovery, shareholder disputes, corporate restructuring and compliance, internal investigations, and disputes involving intellectual property matters. In addition, Mr. Yip has represented a wide spectrum of stakeholders in corporate fallouts directors and officers, significant shareholders and investors both in the context of asset protection and recovery, and in the context of handling compliance and regulatory issues in response to enquiries raised by Hong Kong and overseas authorities and regulators in connection with the corporate fallouts.
Prior to joining Han Kun's Hong Kong associated law firm, Mr. Yip practiced law at leading international law firms and was chair of the Asia dispute practice of a U.S.-based AmLaw 50 law firm.
Mr. Yip is a member of the London Court of International Arbitration. He is consistently recognized as a leading lawyer in dispute resolution by major legal ranking organizations such as Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.
