On July 20, 2023, Asian Legal Business (ALB) released its annual list of China Top 15 Rising Lawyers. 15 ambitious young lawyers from across China are highlighted because of their potential to become the next power players in the legal industry. Their growing record of achievements, coupled with their expanding client portfolios, make a solid case for why they have what it takes to climb to the top. This year, Han Kun partner Lin Zhou has been named as one of the China Top 15 Rising Lawyers.
With nearly 15 years of experience in fund formation and asset management-related practice areas, Ms. Zhou focuses her practice on the formation and operations of various types of funds, including the structuring and formation of venture capital funds, private equity funds, infrastructure funds, real estate funds, logistics funds, and other investment funds. She has helped design different fund structures, including master-feeder funds, alternative investment vehicles, parallel funds, co-investment funds and other multi-level structure arrangements, together with various organizational forms such as corporate funds, partnership funds, and contractual funds. Ms. Zhou is also experienced in representing LPs of various types (including insurance companies, government funds, and funds of funds) in the course of their fund investments.
Ms. Zhou has a deep understanding of the laws, regulations, and regulatory policies relating to the asset management industry (including funds, securities, insurance, and trust industries, etc.) and has been actively involved as a lawyer representative in communications and policy discussions regarding laws, regulations, and implementing measures in the asset management industry with regulatory authorities such as the CSRC and the Asset Management Association of China. The China Top 15 Rising Lawyers were selected from hundreds of applications from law firms across China. The list was chosen based on the following criteria:

4. Clients the candidate has acted for;
5. Significant accolades the candidate has received for work in the form of public recognition, awards;
6. Clients' comments and colleagues' comments.
To be considered a Rising Lawyer, individuals need to either be under the age of 40 or have no more than 15 years of professional legal experience.
