Work experience

Hao Wu's practice focuses on tax law and private wealth planning.
In the area of tax law, Hao advises corporate and individual clients on a broad range of tax matters, with particular expertise in international tax, cross-border individual tax compliance, and tax dispute resolution.  She assists enterprises with global expansion and outbound investment activities, providing advice on outbound investment structuring, tax treaty application, tax planning for cross-border transactions, transfer pricing analysis, compliance relating to the OECD's Pillar Two global minimum tax rules, and international tax risk management.  Hao also advises high-net-worth individuals and families on cross-border tax compliance matters, including tax residency planning, optimization of domestic and offshore asset structures, tax analysis of family trusts, CRS/FATCA compliance, controlled foreign company (CFC) rules, and general anti-avoidance risks.  In tax dispute resolution, she assists clients in responding to tax audits and investigations conducted by tax authorities, as well as handling tax administrative reconsideration and litigation matters.
In the area of private wealth planning, Hao provides legal services to high-net-worth individuals and families in relation to asset protection, wealth succession, global mobility planning, and tax compliance.  She has extensive experience in family trust matters and has been involved in the establishment, restructuring, and governance of hundreds of family trusts.  Her services cover the full lifecycle of family trusts, including establishment, ongoing administration, restructuring, and termination, together with tax analysis and risk management relating to trust arrangements.  Hao also serves as legal and tax advisor to a number of offshore trust companies and family offices.
Hao has been invited to speak at international tax conferences and has authored China tax country reports for international organizations.  She regularly advises clients in the technology, financial services, and consumer sectors, as well as high-net-worth individuals and families, on complex domestic and cross-border tax and wealth planning matters.
