Mr. Ren focuses on corporate compliance and data protection and has expertise in antitrust filings, litigation, investigations and general corporate matters. Mr. Ren has assisted clients with cybersecurity and data protection compliance in a number of U.S. and Hong Kong IPOs and De-SPACs, assisted with cybersecurity and data protection due diligence in a number of private equity and M&A transactions, and assisted a number of clients with cybersecurity and data protection internal due diligence, designing and refining internal compliance mechanisms, as well as providing other cybersecurity and data protection services in a variety of industries, including automotive, AI, automated driving, new energy, internet platforms, data companies, healthcare, manufacturing, and consumer products. Mr. Ren is familiar with data protection regulations in major jurisdictions such as the US, the EU, the UK and Singapore. Mr. Ren also provides compliance advisory services to clients in the areas of artificial intelligence regulation, geographic information regulation, export control and sanctions, and overseas investment of Chinese companies. In the area of antitrust, Mr. Ren has assisted in a number of merger control filings, monitoring trustees for conditionally approved cases, and antitrust investigations, as well as assisting in a number of antitrust litigations involving a world-renowned internet and smart hardware company. Prior to joining Han Kun, he interned at Fangda Partners.
