Work experience

Mr. Smith focuses on Hong Kong capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters.
Prior to joining Han Kun, Mr. Smith worked in the Beijing office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett from 2018 to 2020.  Mr. Smith has advised clients on Hong Kong IPOs covering a wide spectrum of industries, including consumer goods, real estate, manufacturing, and online education.

Educational background

Mr. Smith obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Peking University.  He also holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
