Mr. Fitzpatrick focuses on compliance and risk management. He assists foreign investors to navigate the complexities of doing business in China, particularly with respect to corporate compliance and data protection.
Mr. Fitzpatrick advises clients on U.S. tax matters, including with respect to non-resident investment, pre-immigration planning, and U.S. expatriate taxation. He assists clients with their filing needs, such as U.S. income tax return filings for U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and non-residents.
Prior to joining Han Kun, Mr. Fitzpatrick was a foreign legal consultant at AllBright Law Offices in Shanghai. He is also a U.S. certified public accountant and has previous Big 4 public accounting experience in the United States. During his legal studies, Mr. Fitzpatrick externed with the Office of Chief Counsel, U.S. Internal Revenue Service and served as president of the school's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
