Paula’s practice focuses on foreign direct investment and joint ventures, general corporate matters, private equity and venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions in China.
Before joining Han Kun in 2018, Paula was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, a leading US law firm and worked at Clifford Chance LLP, a leading London-based international law firm for over 12 years. Paula has advised various multi-national companies, international private equity funds and Chinese companies on their investment into and operations in China, in-bound and out-bound buyout acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, disposals and strategic transactions and overseas across a broad range of business sectors. Her clients include VC and PE funds such as Hillhouse, GGV, Coatue, Warburg Pincus, CMC Capital, Carlyle, PAG, Orchid Asia, CITIC Capital and EQT, multi-national companies such as Pfizer, Autoliv, Viking, the Coca-Cola Company, McKinsey & Company, Blizzard Entertainment and Société Générale Group, and various Chinese unicorns and upcoming companies such as Abogen, NIO, Hailai, Chehaoduo and others.
