Work experience

Ms. Li co-founded Han Kun Law Offices at the end of 2004 and has been with the firm ever since.  Prior to that, Ms. Li began her legal career at a leading PRC law firm, where she represented numerous offshore multinational clients—including Fortune 500 multinationals—in connection with acquisitions of PRC companies and the establishment of Sino-foreign joint ventures.  During these engagements, she provided comprehensive legal counsel throughout the transactions.  Upon completion of the transactions, Ms. Li continued to represent the foreign-invested enterprises in China and advised on their ongoing operational compliance matters.
Ms. Li subsequently served as a Chinese law legal expert in the Silicon Valley office of a well-known U.S. law firm, where her practice focused on cross-border M&A and financing matters.  Since the end of 2004, Ms. Li has represented private equity and venture capital funds and handled a variety of complex onshore-offshore structured transactions.  She also provides legal services to PRC private enterprises in connection with private financings, offshore listings, and mergers and acquisitions.  In addition, Ms. Li advises companies of different types, including state-owned enterprises, on an ongoing basis, assisting them with governance and operational compliance mechanisms.  Through her work on sophisticated cross-border and domestic transactions, Ms. Li has accumulated extensive experience in the application of PRC law.
Ms. Li previously served as the firm's CEO, contributing to the firm's management and strategic development.

Educational background

Ms. Li graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a Bachelor of Engineering degree.  Ms. Li holds an LL.M. degree in International Economic Law from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade.  She also holds an LL.M. degree in Corporate Law and Business from Stanford University School of Law.
