Before joining Han Kun in 2006, Mr. Chen practiced as a corporate lawyer at Clifford Chance LLP and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, two prestigious international law firms.  His practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, private equity financings, U.S. SEC-registered offerings, and other related corporate transactions.  Mr. Chen specializes in assisting clients in designing transaction structures and preparing documentation that both meet business objectives and comply with legal requirements.
Mr. Chen has represented both Chinese and international companies in a variety of corporate transactions, including acquisitions by U.S. public companies of China companies, venture capital or private equity investments by foreign funds into Chinese companies, establishment of operations in China by foreign companies, restructuring, and private or public financings of Chinese companies, as well as acquisitions by Chinese companies of assets or equities of overseas companies.  Mr. Chen's representative clients include 58.com, Boss Zhipin (HKEX: 2076), BRV, Capital Group, CDH, China Growth Capital, CreditEase, DCM, Dun & Bradstreet (NYSE: DNB), FIS (NYSE: FIS), GGV Capital, Meituan (HKEX: 3690), KPCB, Legend Capital, Micron Technology (Nasdaq: MU), Sequoia Capital, Tarena (NYSE: TEDU), and VIPshop.com (NYSE: VIPS), among others.

Mr. Chen graduated from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing with a B.A. degree in 1997, and the University of Minnesota Law School with a J.D. degree in 2000.
