Work experience

Mr. Shi specializes in competition law.  He is committed to providing practical, tailored advice to clients by creatively combining an in-depth understanding of competition law practice in China and comprehensive knowledge of practices in other major jurisdictions.
Through years of practice, Mr. Shi has developed expertise across a variety of competition law practices, including merger filings, antitrust investigations, antitrust-related dispute resolutions, and competition compliance.  He has represented many renowned multinational and domestic companies in diverse industries, including high-tech, internet, healthcare, shipping, automobile, logistics, FMCG, and agriculture.
Mr. Shi works closely with the Chinese competition authorities and is actively involved in their legislative consultations.
Mr. Shi has been consistently recommended in the field of Antitrust/Competition by authoritative national and international legal directories, including Chambers, The Legal 500, and LEGALBAND.  He has been invited to comment on antitrust issues by national media, including China Global Television Network, Legal Daily, and Caijing.  Mr. Shi sits on the antitrust expert panel of the Beijing Administration for Market Regulation with specialties in high-tech, healthcare, and automobiles.  He is also the responsible editor for the antitrust section of the National Enterprise Compliance Officer Exam Textbook (2023). 
Before joining Han Kun, Mr. Shi practiced law at Linklaters and Fangda Partners in Beijing.

Educational background

Mr. Shi graduated from China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing with an LL.B. degree.  He received a MA (Hons) degree in EU Competition Law and a Post-graduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law from King's College London.
