Work experience

Mr. Li joined Han Kun Law Offices in March 2020, prior to which he worked for seven years at China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) as a patent examiner and practiced with China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. as a patent agent for six years.  In 2018, he trained in a U.S. patent law and practice training program provided by Scully, Scott, Murphy & Presser, P.C.
Mr. Li's practice focuses on patent law.  He has extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution in major jurisdictions including China, the United States, and Europe.  The technical fields in which Mr. Li practices include displays, semiconductors, computer science, Internet applications, lighting technologies, video communications, etc.  Mr. Li has assisted many world-renowned companies obtain hundreds of patents in China, the United States, Europe, South Korea, and Japan, providing them with valuable advice for patent prosecution strategies.  He has also advised clients on patent landscaping and strategic analysis.

Educational background

Mr. Li received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic Engineering in 2003 from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.  In 2007, he obtained a Master of Engineering degree from Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
